“What feeds my soul in this supermodern world:

The fog that obscures everything
and lets you appreciate what’s immediate;

The waves, whether they crash wildly
or ebb limply, that emerge from the deep;

Dusk that covers the world tenderly,
equilibrating differences found in color;

And then there are the clouds—
While the ominous ones remind us of our insignificance
and our insignificant problems,
The fluffy ones remind us to keep dreaming.

Grey skies behind us,
Open skies before us.”
