I have a deep respect and admiration for plants, whether they are potted, wild or gardened. Plants often remind me how to exist dependently and independently simultaneously — they appear to live effortlessly. I have an interest in plants native to Santa Cruz County because they are experts at surviving and flourishing in the county’s climate and environment, especially those with medicinal and edible properties.
