What is Primer?

Welcome to Primer 2020! City on a Hill Press’s annual back-to-school publication is a collection of guides, news stories, and profiles aimed at informing incoming students and giving space to the voices of the UCSC and Santa Cruz community.

This marks the first issue in CHP’s 55th volume, and its first fully digital one. We head into the 2020-21 school year on a wave of uncertainty, but we will work to continue upholding our mission statement — watchdog the UCSC and UC administrations, tell the underreported and underrepresented stories, and serve as a platform for change.
