Explosion Southeast of Downtown Santa Cruz
On Sunday, September 29 at 1:25 P.M., the Santa Cruz Fire and Police Departments raced to an apartment building ravaged by fire in the 700 block of Third Street. Three male victims who had been severely burned were rescued and rushed by helicopter to a trauma center in the area.
Fire Near College Eight
UCSC campus police responded to a call regarding a fire near College Eight on Sunday Oct. 6. The fire was called in anonymously at 3:17 a.m. and five departments including the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Santa Cruz Fire Department and the Scott’s Valley’s Fire Department responded.
