Ryan James Kieffe, 28, of Tehachapi, Calif., passed away on July 13. The funeral service was held at Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel July 16 and was officiated by Rev. Joel Davadilla of St. Malachy Catholic Church.
Ryan was born Sept. 20, 1981. He was raised in Tehachapi, where he attended Wells Elementary School, Golden Hills Elementary School, Jacobsen Junior High School and Tehachapi High School. Ryan attended UC Santa Cruz, where he graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
Ryan was the consummate philosopher: He was compassionate about thinking and contemplating important ideas. Ryan’s relentless pursuit of the truth led him into many spirited debates, where he was typically the humble victor. Ryan spent his free time reading and philosophizing with friends and classmates. Ryan loved the life of the mind, and he indulged it to its fullest.
Ryan was a loving son, a loyal brother and an incredibly generous friend. He is survived by his mother, Kathryin O’Malley; his father, Randy Kieffe; his sister, Ashley Kieffe; his grandparents, Bob and Wilma Kieffe and innumerable family, friends and loved ones.
