UC Santa Cruz police arrested Victor Solano-Guzman, 21, on Sunday night at 3:39 a.m. on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence,  according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrest logs.

UCSC police responded to a 911 call reporting domestic violence on Dec. 7 at a Stevenson residence, according to police Chief Nader Oweis. Solano-Guzman is held on $375,000 bail at the Santa Cruz County Jail.

According to UCSC Public Affairs, the victim was stabbed after an argument and taken to Dominican Hospital for treatment of “minor to moderate injuries.” The victim has since been released.

Chief Oweis said a CruzAlert was not sent because the suspect was already in custody. He said notifications are only required when there is an immediate emergency, or when public safety may be at risk.

The department is further investigating the incident. Chief Oweis declined to identify the age or sex of the victim.
